I knew we had to try Haggis while in Edinburgh. The traditional dish is to have haggis with mashed potatoes and swede, and bizarrely these are often served in a tower. This dish doesn’t look very appetising but was absolutely delicious!
We tried various other iterations of Scottish food, which mostly comprises meat, gravy and potatoes. One place even served the potato skins – cooked up with a tasty sauce (great idea but this missed the mark for me).
We also tried American food when we saw a good BBQ place:
We also treated ourselves to breakfast at a posh hotel which comprised mushroom and truffle eggs on toast, and eggs Benedict, with fresh orange juice.

Is the first photo from Makars Mash Bar?? That’s one of my favourite places to go!
It is! We really enjoyed it too! 🙂
